Daniel Seuzeneau’s law enforcement career has never been limited to one assignment, one division, or one side of the department. He has answered calls as a patrol officer, investigated major crimes, supervised detectives, negotiated critical incidents, managed departmental operations, communicated directly with the public, and led the largest municipal police department in St. Tammany Parish.
That range of experience matters. The Sheriff’s Office must protect communities, support deputies, oversee complex investigations, manage public resources, communicate during difficult moments, and make decisions that affect the entire parish. Daniel has spent more than twenty years preparing for those responsibilities through firsthand service at nearly every level of law enforcement.

Daniel built his career one responsibility at a time.
Patrol gave him a direct understanding of the people and neighborhoods law enforcement serves. Criminal investigations taught him how to follow evidence, work with victims, and carry difficult cases toward prosecution. Crisis negotiation required patience and sound judgment under pressure. Administrative leadership gave him experience with budgets, federal grants, contracts, purchasing, personnel, and the daily operations behind effective public safety.
By the time Daniel was selected to lead the Slidell Police Department, he understood the organization from both sides of the badge: the work performed in the field and the decisions made at the executive level.

Patrol & Community Response
Daniel began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer serving the people of St. Tammany Parish. Those years placed him inside homes and neighborhoods during some of the most difficult moments families can face. His service earned recognition that included the 2013 Officer of the Year award, a Lifesaving Award, and an Exceptional Service Award.
Criminal Investigations
As a detective, Daniel investigated serious crimes and served on a Federal Bureau of Investigation task force. After being promoted to sergeant, he supervised major investigations involving homicides, armed robberies, carjackings, and other violent offenses. His experience includes working with victims and families throughout the investigative process and into prosecution.
Crisis Negotiation
Daniel served as a hostage and crisis negotiator with the Slidell Police Department’s SWAT team. The assignment required clear communication, careful judgment, and the ability to remain focused when lives and public safety were at stake.
Public Information & Communication
For roughly a decade, Daniel served as one of the most recognizable public voices in St. Tammany law enforcement. As Public Information Officer, he communicated with news organizations, civic groups, homeowners associations, and residents during both routine updates and major public safety events.
Department Administration
As Chief Administrative Officer, Daniel gained direct experience with the business and operational responsibilities of running a modern law enforcement agency. His work included managing an annual budget of more than $18 million, writing federal grants, executing contracts, overseeing purchase orders, and helping direct departmental operations.
Daniel also holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University, providing additional preparation for the financial, organizational, and administrative demands of the Sheriff’s Office.
Police Command
Daniel was selected to serve as Chief of Police for the largest municipal police department in St. Tammany Parish. In that position, he was responsible for leading the men and women of the department while bringing together the investigative, operational, administrative, and public-facing experience developed throughout his career.

The Sheriff’s Office is both a law enforcement agency and a major public organization. Leading it requires more than experience in a single division. It requires an understanding of patrol operations, criminal investigations, personnel, budgets, grants, contracts, crisis response, public communication, and executive decision-making.
Daniel has worked across each of those responsibilities. He knows how decisions made at the top affect the deputies carrying out the mission, the employees supporting them, and the citizens depending on their service.
His experience provides a complete view of what effective law enforcement leadership requires. He is not seeking the office of Sheriff to begin learning the job. He has spent his career preparing to lead it.
