Daniel's Plan for the Sheriff's Office

A Stronger,
More ACCOUNTABLE
St. Tammany

Daniel Seuzeneau believes every family in St. Tammany Parish deserves to feel safe, every deputy deserves strong support, and every citizen deserves a sheriff who is present, accessible, and accountable. His platform is grounded in more than twenty years of law enforcement experience and a commitment to serving the people of this parish.

Future of the Office

The Plan

01

Accountability & Communication

What will change is the Sheriff's Office will not hide behind Public Records Requests. Daniel will address and confront problems, both internally and externally, head on in full view of the public. There will be crystal clear transparency with a portal showcasing every public records request.

02

Consolidation of Resources

Currently there is one 911 call center but all of the first responder agencies use different software for running their operations. Also, there are multiple training a-academies for all of the municipal police agencies. Daniel has a plan to consolidate all of these resources saving the tax payers millions.

03

Better Relationship with the D.A. & other Government agencies

Protecting St. Tammany Parish requires cooperation, not competition, between law enforcement agencies. Working closely with our District Attorney and fully cooperating with local, state, and federal partners is imperative. Anything less is counterproductive and fails the citizens we are sworn to serve.

Daniel has built a strong, trusted relationship with District Attorney Collin Sims and leaders throughout nearly every local, state, and federal law enforcement agency. As Sheriff, Daniel will usher in an unprecedented level of communication, coordination, and cooperation…all focused on making St. Tammany Parish safer.

04

Community Liason Deputies

Daniel will assign deputies to specific areas of St. Tammany Parish, giving every community a direct point of contact within the Sheriff’s Office. These deputies will have the authority and responsibility to address concerns, solve problems, and take action on issues brought to them by the public.

People deserve more than someone who simply listens—they need someone who can get things done. Sheriff Daniel Seuzeneau will provide that connection, accountability, and response in every part of the parish.

05

A Sheriff who Stands Behind his Deputies - No Retaliation

No deputy should ever fear retaliation for doing their job, speaking the truth, or doing what is right. Under Daniel’s leadership, the Sheriff’s Office will not operate like a good ol’ boys’ club with a privileged few at the top and everyone else treated as though they do not matter.

Every deputy will be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. They will know their jobs are secure as long as they serve with integrity, follow the law, and do the right thing. Sheriff Daniel Seuzeneau will stand behind the men and women who honorably wear the badge.

06

Jail Maintenance Solutions

The condition of the St. Tammany Parish Jail is unacceptable. While the Parish is responsible for funding major maintenance, repairs, and upgrades, the Sheriff must also find practical ways to protect taxpayer dollars and improve conditions inside the facility.

Many individuals incarcerated in the jail have valuable experience in painting, plumbing, electrical work, air-conditioning repair, roofing, construction, and other skilled trades. Daniel will establish properly supervised inmate work programs that put those skills to productive use, provide meaningful job experience, and assist with appropriate maintenance projects.

This common-sense approach can reduce costs, improve jail conditions, and help prepare participating inmates for successful employment when they return to the community.

07

Board of Professionals - No Blank Checks - No Sweetheart Deals

Daniel will establish an advisory board of respected local leaders to review major projects and provide guidance on vendor qualifications, pricing, performance, and value.

With extensive administrative and budget-management experience, Daniel understands that government contracts must be closely scrutinized to prevent inflated costs, unnecessary change orders, and wasteful spending. Every contract will be awarded in accordance with public-bid laws, but vendors will also be held accountable for the quality, cost, and timeliness of their work.

On Daniel’s watch, there will be no blank checks and no sweetheart deals. He will never forget that public money belongs to the taxpayers—and he will protect every dollar as though it were his own.

08

A Smarter Future for Our Jail

The rising cost of operating, maintaining, and upgrading the St. Tammany Parish Jail places a significant burden on taxpayers. Medical care, food services, repairs, staffing, and long-term facility improvements all deserve a serious and honest review.

Daniel is willing to examine every responsible option, including public-private partnerships or private management, to determine whether a different operating model could reduce costs, improve services, and limit taxpayer exposure…without compromising safety, accountability, or the humane treatment of inmates.

No decision this important should be made behind closed doors or based on politics. Sheriff Daniel Seuzeneau will demand a transparent, independent analysis and will support only the option that best serves the people of St. Tammany Parish.

09

Open the Books. No Waste. No Abuse. No Secrets.

As Sheriff, Daniel will order a comprehensive forensic audit of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office. This audit will follow the taxpayers’ money, closely examine contracts, vendors, purchasing, any major expenditures, and identify any waste, abuse, conflicts of interest, or misconduct. Daniel believes the public deserves complete transparency, strong financial controls, and confidence that every dollar is being spent lawfully and responsibly.

10

Leadership That Listens

Daniel understands that meeting individually with nearly 750 employees will take time, but he believes every employee deserves the opportunity to be heard.

As Sheriff, Daniel will offer every employee a voluntary one-on-one meeting. He wants to hear directly about their responsibilities, concerns, leadership experiences, and the overall culture of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Real leadership begins with listening. Daniel will not rely solely on reports from the top, he will learn from the deputies, corrections officers, dispatchers, and civilian employees who serve St. Tammany every day.

Leadership

Leading From
the Front

01

Present & Accountable Leadership

Daniel believes a sheriff must be visible, accessible, and willing to stand before the public, especially when times are difficult. True leadership means showing up, taking responsibility, communicating honestly, and never asking others to face challenges alone. As Sheriff, Daniel will lead from the front and remain accountable to the people he serves.

02

Truth & ACCOUNTABILITY

The people of St. Tammany Parish deserve honest, direct communication from their Sheriff. Daniel will tell the truth, even when it is difficult or uncomfortable. He will never hide behind excuses or silence. He will remain accessible and fully accountable to the citizens he serves.

03

Fiscal Responsibility

Daniel has managed multimillion-dollar departmental budgets, secured federal grant funding, and overseen contracts, purchasing, and major expenditures. He understands that every public dollar belongs to the taxpayers and must be managed with discipline and accountability. As Sheriff, Daniel will ensure resources are spent wisely and every dollar delivers value to the people of St. Tammany Parish.

04

Experience at Every Level

Daniel worked his way through the ranks from patrolman to Chief of Police, serving in nearly every level of law enforcement along the way. He understands what it means to answer calls, investigate crimes, supervise personnel, manage complex operations, and lead an entire department. That experience gives him a rare combination of frontline perspective and proven executive leadership.

05

Standing Up for What Is Right

Leadership sometimes means walking away from what is comfortable in order to do what is right. Throughout his career, Daniel has been willing to make difficult decisions, stand firm in his convictions, and put the people of St. Tammany Parish ahead of personal convenience. He believes public service is not about protecting a position, it is about having the courage to serve with purpose.

Community

The People’s Sheriff’s Office

01

An Accessible Sheriff

The citizens of St. Tammany Parish deserves a Sheriff who listens, communicates openly, and remains accessible to the people he was elected to serve. Daniel will welcome public input, meet directly with residents, and ensure their concerns are heard, respected, and addressed.

02

Connected to the Community

For more than a decade, Daniel has stood before the news media, civic organizations, homeowners associations, and residents to address both the accomplishments and the difficult moments facing our community. He has the experience to communicate clearly under pressure, answer tough questions, and provide the public with honest information when it matters most.

03

Honor in Public Service

Daniel believes public service is an honorable calling built on trust, integrity, and responsibility. The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office should reflect those values through the conduct of its employees, the example set by its leadership, and the respect shown to every citizen. As Sheriff, Daniel Seuzeneau will hold the entire agency, and himself, to that standard.

04

A Positive Direction

Daniel Seuzeneau is running for the people of St. Tammany Parish, not against another candidate. His campaign will remain focused on his qualifications, his vision for positive change, and the future of the Sheriff’s Office. Daniel believes voters deserve a campaign built on ideas, leadership, and solutions, not personal attacks.

05

The People’s Sheriff’s Office

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office belongs to the people, and it is carried forward every day by the deputies and employees who serve them. Daniel Seuzeneau will never forget where he came from, who he works for, or the responsibility that comes with leading this agency. As Sheriff, he will remain grounded, accessible, and accountable to both the public and the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office.
